Our broken bits are what make us human

“I am the physical manifestation of a growth mindset.”

Kintsugi is the Japanese technique of repairing broken pottery with golden paste, where the “brokenness” is the beauty—an ode to the object’s history—rather than for it to be discarded or hidden.

I find this to be an empowering and truthful approach to our lives. It’s empowering because kintsugi allows us to be imperfect. It’s truthful because our broken bits are what make us human.

Sitting with the concept of kintsugi gives a healing, holistic sense of ourselves. It has a way of turning mistakes, regrets, and failures, into character and wisdom.

In a different way, this relates to Strike me down, and I shall become more powerful than you can imagine.
